Last weekend, Josefina Vazquez Mota became the first woman nominated for president by any of Mexico's major political parties. Polls show that she is trailing Enrique Peña Nieto, the attractive, fresh face of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), which ruled Mexico with an iron fist until 2000.
